For the second consecutive year, RENIC obtains the support of its counterparts in Europe to represent the scientific cybersecurity community on the Board of Directors of ECSO (European Cybersecurity Organization). ECSO is the first European public-private partnership in cybersecurity led by industry, created to be one of the signatory parties together with the European Commission in the cPPP (contractual Public-Private Partnership) initiative in cybersecurity. ECSO already has 205 members of large companies, SMEs and Start-ups, research centers, universities, clusters and associations as well as local, regional and national administrations of EU member states and partners.
The re-election took place at the ECSO General Assembly held on June 21, 2017. Representatives of the Research Centers (RTO / Universities) category, composed by almost 50 members from 15 countries, have chosen RENIC by a narrow margin of votes among the other 2 candidates.
RENIC as a national sectoral association representing the interests of the scientific community in cybersecurity, receives this support to represent the interests of this group at European level in one of the most relevant bodies in this area. RENIC thus fulfils its objectives of positioning and representing this group at a national and international level, as well as promoting cooperation and collaboration.
